Name: Theta Chi

On April 10, 1856, in Norwich, Vermont, two young men attending Norwich University called to order the first meeting of Theta Chi Fraternity. 66 years later, on December 22, 1922, a group of men known as the Mohawk Club, took the oaths and the Alpha Mu Chapter was founded at Iowa State University. In 1996 the chapter house burnt down from a kitchen fire. With the support from alumni and other chapters, enough money was raised to rebuild the current facility that opened in 1999. The 150-year tradition of extending the helping hand continues to flourish on the Iowa State campus. We value the principle of friendship through the mutual assistance of every member. We have one of the largest scholarship funds of all Greek life.

"Joining Theta Chi has been by far the best decision I’ve made while in college. I’ve made countless memories and I’m so proud to call the guys in the chapter my brothers. We always have each other’s back, and there’s always someone to hang out with. We have one of the largest scholarship funds of all Greek life and we have numerous opportunities for your future. My favorite part about Theta Chi is the potential for growth that’s always up for grabs, showing that we’re the fastest growing chapter on campus. Two years ago, I joined a brotherhood of 33 active members, and now we’ve tripled our chapter size. You really get out what you put in, and I’m loving every second of it."
