    Dialogues on Diversity

    The Office of Sorority and Fraternity Engagement and the College of Health and Human Sciences are offering a half-semester, one credit course for council officers to explore self-awareness and identify individual and collective actions for improving community and engagement.

    During this course, students will engage in dialogue, active listening, and reflection to learn about self and others. At the end of the course, students should be able to suspend their judgements and identify assumptions they hold, while also gaining an understanding about the power of difference in our personal lives and the world today. Whether you are already knowledgeable about social identities or not, this opportunity serves as a great way to learn, grow, and go out into the community to make change!

    Sorority and Fraternity Leadership Course

    The Office of Sorority and Fraternity Engagement and the Leadership Studies Program are offering a three-credit academic course offered to current and emerging leaders in the sorority and fraternity community. Applications are available during the fall and spring semesters. Twenty students are accepted for the course. The goal of the course is to provide student leaders who possess membership in a sororities and fraternities with the skills, knowledge, and resources to allow them to reach their potential as leaders and council/chapter officers. This course will focus significantly on both the practical side of being an organizational leader, and balanced with understanding how to create a stronger fraternity and sorority community.

    Frequency: Spring Semester and some Fall Semesters

    Registration Information: applications for the course are sent out at the beginning of the prior semester. Selected students will be provided registration information.

    Leading with Purpose

    The Office of Sorority and Fraternity Engagement and the Leadership Students Program are offering a half-semester, one credit course to new members of select sororities and fraternities. 

    This unique course partners leadership development with a sorority or fraternity new member education program. Students in this course are able to discover their strengths, articulate their values and achieve goals. 

    Sororities and fraternities interested in coordinating a section of this course should contact the Office of Sorority and Fraternity Engagement

    Frequency: Fall Semester (by request); Fall 2025 participating chapters include Kappa Alpha Theta, Pi Kappa Alpha, Pi Kappa Phi

    Registration Information: new members of participating sororities and fraternities will have the course added to their schedule
