Social Justice
The promotion of change through challenging inequalities and embracing diversity.
The sorority and fraternity community is committed to supporting and enhancing the college experience of every member and doing it's part to make sure all Iowa State students feel welcome and safe on campus. This committment is shown through chapter progamming and critical conversations within the four governing councils. The Sorority and Fraternity Engagement Office works to partner with offices on campus and bring conversations around diversity, inclusion, and equity into spaces related to academics, civic engagement, and leadership. Social justice topics are incorprated into the academic courses taught by Sorority and Fraternity Engagement, leadership development opportunties for community leaders, and through service opportunities.
In addition to the efforts of chapters, governing councils, and the Office of Sorority and Fraternity Engagement there are special interest groups dedicated to specific social justice causes.
