Founded at RPI in Troy, New York on April 29, 1864 Theta Xi is the only fraternity founded during the Civil War. Theta Xi was originally intended as an engineering fraternity. After Theta Xi's merger with Kappa Sigma Kappa, our organization opened up to any and all majors. The Mu Chapter of Theta Xi was founded on April 2, 1909 and has operated under our original charter for over 100 years. Theta Xi is dedicated to providing a college home environment for its members and preparing them for a fulfilling life in their area of interest.
