Alpha Omicron Pi - Iota Sigma
2007 Greeley St
Ames, IA 50014
Alpha Omicron Pi is an international women's fraternity promoting friendship for a lifetime, inspiring academic excellence and lifelong learning, and developing leadership skills through service to the fraternity and community. The values on which AOII was founded help lead us in the decisions we make and the behaviors we exhibit in our daily lives. We are inspired to promote the values of simplicity, integrity, circumspection, tolerance, generosity, personal dignity, and love. Our lives are to be living symbols of these values that we hold in common. They enable us to go with character and confidence into the world around us, confidently knowing AOII is ours, offering friendships and opportunities throughout our lifetime. Alpha Omicron Pi was founded on the ideals of character, dignity, scholarship, and college loyalty. All members of the Fraternity, collegiate and alumnae, are expected to live these values to the fullest and carry the spirit of AOII into the world around them.

Philanthropy | Run for the Roses and "AOIIHOP" are our chapter's annual philanthropies. Run for the Roses is a 5K and 10K walk/run and kid's fun run held every fall. The event is coordinated with the members of the Ames Area Running Club. Proceeds from Run for the Roses are donated to the Alpha Omicron Pi Foundation which distributes donations for arthritis research grants and other research funding. At Vespers 2015, Iota Sigma Chapter was awarded Best Philanthropy Event for the third time! In 2016 for the 30th annual event, Run for the Roses raised $30,000! In 2022, Alpha Omicron Pi began an event called AOIIHOP in the spring semester! At this event we offered a pancake dinner for $5! Through this event we are able to raise $2,000 annually for the Arthritis Foundation! |
