Tiffany Contreras grew up in Des Moines, where she attended East High School. In the summer of 2015, Tiffany spent the summer at Iowa State University in the George Washington Carver Summer Research Internship Program conducting research under the direction of College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. In 2016, less than a month after high school graduation she returned to Iowa State to begin her Bachelor’s program and 4 years later earned a degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice. Tiffany was involved in various organizations at Iowa State including APEX (Academic Program for Excellence), Multicultural Greek Council, Student Government, Black Student Alliance, Latinx Student Leader Council, Latinx Student Initiatives, Multicultural Vision Program Scholar, BOLD (Bridging Opportunities in Leadership and Diversity) Learning Community. Tiffany continues to be involved with Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, Inc. as Co-Chair of the National Philanthropy Committee. At IUPUI, she worked at the Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center as a Development Intern with their fundraising development team. Tiffany returned to Des Moines in August of 2022 to be close to her friends and family again. In her free time she spends most of the time with family and friends and her hobbies include dance and weight lifting!
