Michelle grew up in Rockwell City, Iowa and made her first journey to Iowa State University in the Fall of 1996. She has a degree in English with an emphasis in Rhetoric and Professional Communication with a minor in African American Studies.  Social Justice is a passion and Civic Engagement a way of life.  A proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Michelle has held positions on the local, state and regional levels. When not at work, you will find Michelle with her nieces or with friends who are really family, escaping at the library finding the next book to read or in front of a screen streaming a documentary (or the next mindless sitcom). Family fishing trips are her fondest memories and connecting with nature as a way to recharge is vital to keeping grounded.
